Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first roles on television were two episodes as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on The ABC sitcom Roseanne The character was portrayed by her mom. Her parents did not allow her to perform with her parents till old age, due to the anxiety it could cause. Perry acknowledged that she was not confident in her acting during her high school years, but started performing as way to get acquainted with new students at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry started her acting career with New York after graduation, landing minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry move back to California and find work as a theatre actress. She performed on Broadway on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. In 2015, she performed with her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry made an appearance in 9 episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. In 2017, she played a supporting role in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal with her father. That same year she was cast as a younger counterpart to Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger version of Mary Cooper's character. The actress was chosen for the part despite having a close relationship with the character's family.
